How this website handles information
The website is designed to minimise the collection of personal information and to avoid storing funding or collaboration enquiries.
Funding and collaboration enquiry builders
The enquiry forms operate in the visitor’s browser. When Create email is selected, the website builds a mailto link and opens the visitor’s configured email application. The form is not submitted to this website, and the entered information is not stored in a website database.
The website does not upload or store CV files. Applicants are instructed to attach a CV PDF manually in their email application.
Email correspondence
Once a visitor sends an email, the message and any attachment are handled through the sender’s email provider and Durham University’s normal email systems. Do not include confidential, proprietary, commercially sensitive or patent-sensitive information in an initial collaboration enquiry.
Publication search
The publication archive sends search and filter values to the server to query the group’s bibliographic database. The search is used to return matching publication records and is not designed to create a profile of the visitor.
Technical logs
The hosting platform may generate routine technical and security logs, such as request times, addresses, response status and browser information. These logs are controlled through the hosting environment rather than the public enquiry forms.
External links
The website links to Durham University, publishers, DOI services, ORCID, Scopus and other external services. Each external service operates under its own privacy and accessibility arrangements.
