• Reduced-motion preferences are respected by the core stylesheet.
• Form fields use visible labels and required-field validation.
• Key distinctions use text as well as colour.
• Missing historic portraits receive a text-based placeholder.

Known limitations

Some historic graphical abstracts, journal covers, portraits and PDF files were created before the redesigned website. Image quality, embedded text size and PDF accessibility can therefore vary. External websites and publisher documents are outside the control of this site.
