Eilish Bonner (1996) was born and raised in Donegal, Ireland. She graduated from Queens University Belfast with a BSc (Hons) Medicinal Chemistry with Industrial Placement in June 2019.

Yingfeng (Linda) Zhang

3rd year PhD student
Linda

Yingfeng was born in Beijing in China. She graduated with a BSc in Natural Sciences (Chemistry and Mathematics) from Durham University and continued to work on research projects with Prof. Ian Baxendale. Her PhD projects focus on the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds with broad applicability in industry and enabling technologies at a large scale.

Haijing Wang

3rd year PhD student

Haijing was born in Dalian in China. She studied chemistry at Durham University and graduated with MChem degree. She continued with chemistry PhD at Durham University and joined Prof. Baxendale's research group. Her research topic was focused on the synthesis of small organic molecules and improve the synthetic strategy to be cheaper, safer, more efficient and less time consuming.

George Lyall-Brookes

Masters by Research student
George

George (Born 2000) is from Cheshire and graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a BSc (Hons) Pharmaceutical Chemistry with an Industrial Placement. His masters research project will focus on the use of VNS chemistry for aromatic functionalisation.

Diego Alvares Bustos

1st year PhD student
Diego

Diego was born in Mexico City and graduated National Polytechnic Institute masters in engineering of hidrocarborn and related energies. His PhD research project focuses on the design of catalyst for the treatment of biofuels.

Haoyang Wang

Haoyang (Born 2000) is from Yantai, China. He got his master degree in Durham and is now a PhD student studying photosynthesis of cyclic amino acids.


Lisa A. Heim

Erasmus MChem Student
Lisa

Lisa A. Heim (2000) was born in Nîmes in France. She studied Chemical and Process Engineering at CPE Lyon with a specialisation in Organic Chemistry. Her masters research project will focus on the synthesis of biologically active insoindoline derivates.

Luke C. Furnace

4th year MChem student
Luke

Luke (born 2001) is from Hertfordshire and is a 4th year MChem student. His research project will investigate the synthesis of bridgehead nitrogen heterocycles through radical cyclisation processes.
